Geronimo Drop Tower

Geronimo!!!!! The newest addition to the thrill rides at Ghost Town will give you a whole new perspective on just how high you really are.  The tower is located at one of the highest points in the park, more than 4,800 feet above sea level.  You can see miles of the breathtaking valley surrounding the park and engage in the beauty of the Appalachian Mountains.  Your heart will drop as you are raised 98 feet up into the sky and then suddenly released into a free fall before you are safely stopped by magnetic brakes.

Tumble Weed Coaster

This unique coaster is a tumble of fun.  The Tumble Weed Coaster has just enough speed and turns allowing children of all ages to have a blast.  Parents can even ride along on this ride. The steel shift coaster will have the young Buck-A-Roo’s screaming for more.

Canyon Canoes, Sky Fighters & Wagon Train

Encounter a canoe expedition, a jet fighting adventure, or even a wagon ride.  All three rides are located in Ghost Town’s Kiddy Land.  Each ride is unique and has been completely restored and hand painted.  Look for the Indian who keeps a watchful eye on the canyons and the young pioneers.

Carousel

Enjoy a nostalgic trip back in time with a ride on our vintage 1929 Carousel.  The Ghost Town Carousel has been completely restored with each horse newly hand painted and uniquely named.  Excitement thrives in the hearts of all its riders as the carousel turns ‘round and ‘round.

Round-up

The Round-up will make you dizzy just watching other guests ride! Get all wound up as you spin in a circle and then tilt to the sky.  You are quickly spun as a rope of a cowboy; but don’t fear, the cowboy has a tough grip on you.  The round-up will be sure to give you exhilarating spins!

Undertaker

This classic scrambler is a must ride for everyone.  You are sure to experience loads of fun as you shuffle around and around, being gravitated towards one side of your seat to another. Be sure to choose your seat mate wisely since you will have no choice in the closeness of the experience you are about to undertake!

Gunslinger Swings

Sling around like an outlaw’s gun when you ride the classic Gunslinger. This ride will give you a bird’s eye view of the park along with the surrounding valley.  Be sure to engage in the views of the Appalachian Mountains as you appear to swing off the side of Buck Mountain revolving around two giant Colt 45 replicas.

Ghost Town Chair Lift

Sit back and relax as you are lifted 3,300 feet into the sky from Maggie Valley to the top of Buck Mountain, located at 4,600 feet above sea level.  This gentle gliding attraction provides you the unique opportunity to experience the nature below you and the beautiful views of Maggie Valley and the Great Smoky Mountains surrounding you.  You may even see a bear!  And don’t forget the trip down the mountain is a must see!

Ride Height: 36” Must be accompanied by a responsible adult. There is a two-passenger limit per ride, and infants count as one ride. Babies are not allowed to ride on the seat.  They must be strapped to an adult by means of your own forward facing harness. (Baby or toddler in arms counts as one person).

Scenic Train...opening this summer

All Aboard for a relaxing ride circling the old western town on our beloved Ghost Town Scenic Train.  The friendly Ghost Town Conductor takes you for a half mile ride on the top of Buck Mountain at a gentle speed, allowing you to take in the breathtaking views of the Smoky Mountains.  Just remember to be on the lookout for train robberies from the malicious outlaws sneaking around the 1880’s town.

Dream Catcher

Cliff Hanger Coaster

Are you BRAVE enough to ride the world's most unusual roller coaster? Ride the Cliff Hanger!

Come and take a thrilling ride on the famous Cliff Hanger Rollercoaster. Originally named the Red Devil, this rollercoaster is sure to give you butterflies as you whip and loop de loop around the side of Buck Mountain.

Ghost Town Incline Rail Road...opening this summer

Take a ride on the longest and highest incline rail road in the State of North Carolina as you travel up the side of Buck Mountain to the park. The railroad carts provide you an opportunity to view the surrounding mountains without taking your feet off the ground.

What would life on the frontier be without a bank robbery and a gunfight?  Ghost Town in the Sky has an authentic western town with two saloons, schoolhouse, jail and even a church.  Come re-live the Wild West with hourly shows between good guys and bad guys. Pull up a seat at one of the saloons and watch the Can-Can girls perform or slide down to the next saloon and see live music. Keep your eyes open - you may see authentic Cherokee Indian dancers and musicians. Hand-clapping fun awaits you with shows and live music daily.
